Surprise tickets to the Peppa Pig movie!

In our house, Peppa is played pretty much everyday, the girls role play as Peppa and Susie, and the Peppa toy figures are frequently carried all over the house. So, when I heard that they were releasing new episodes at select theaters, I knew I had to get tickets.

After purchasing the tickets on Fandango, found dresses on Amazon that were Peppa in their sizes. Yay for 2-day shipping! Jenna saw Peppa accessory kits (headbands, bracelets, rings, and necklaces) on my computer. After throwing them in my cart and checking out, I quickly put away my computer to complete shopping.

We told them on Sunday just after breakfast. They were so excited, they asked about getting ready over and over! Finally, it was time to get them ready. We were ready to get in the car and head for Regal in Avalon.

Walking into the theater was a little overwhelming for them. All was quickly forgotten when they got their popcorn snack packs (popcorn, gummies, and lemonade). Jessica also insisted on helping me eat my nachos! We got settled in our seats about 10 minutes early.

After previews and commercials, finally Peppa was ready to start! Jenna was captivated at first snort!! She curled up against me and really enjoyed the movie. There was lots of laughing and dancing. Jessica curled up against her dad for the first half, then cuddled with Jenna and me for the rest.

The girls had so much fun! They were so excited about the movie theater. I loved that no one cared that the kids were loud and out of their seats. It was a great length - Jessica said she was ready to go with just a few minutes left. Jenna cried to watch it again! It was definitely a win!!

The one drawback I had was how long it took the movie to actually start. I mentioned commercials during the previews - I’ve never seen that before. They advertised the Peppa theme park, the Peppa indoor playground, new Peppa toys, then new Peppa music CD, then Ferbie and Baby Alive. With the previews, this lasted 28 minutes. A toddler waiting 30 minutes to see what they came for gets a little restless!
